Awareness
Raising
Prior to stakeholders’ participation of Green Tenancy, Landlord
and Tenant should implement an overarching sustainability
education programme. Raising stakeholder awareness is the first
step in sustainability education. This step provides stakeholders
the opportunity to be educated with resources conservation
and sustainability issues such as water usage and electricity
usage. In addition, it also provides an opportunity for the
company to broaden the spectrum of its core values to show
that they are role models of sustainability in the industry. A
good starting point is to use workshops, seminars and some
interactive activities such as competitions to allow stakeholders
to understand the importance of their roles in helping a
company achieve sustainable targets. Moreover, this will also
allow stakeholders to understand that collaborating with each
other under this initiative is beneficial to all parties and that will
ultimately result in a win-win situation.
