CH 4
VOLUNTARY PILOT RUN
30
HKGBC Green Tenancy Driver for Office Buildings
Landlord
The Landlord will be responsible for
providing the space and necessary
facilities such as seperate meters for
electricity or water. In addition, it can
propose to the GOT Committee to refit
existing utilities such as HVAC systems to
more energy efficient units.
Recognise Problem
and Establish
GOT Committee
Before committing to a plan or action of any sort, it is
imperative for stakeholders to identify and recognise
areas that require attention to. These areas might
include but not limited to energy usage, water usage,
waste production, and tenancy behaviour.
For example, they may investigate their electricity bills
and compare with their previous annual electricity
consumption or average electricity consumption in
Hong Kong for similar sized units.
Once a problem has been identified, and a solution to
alleviate the problem has been determined, GOT
Committee may form a plan. As office buildings are
usually multi-tenanted, the recognition of problem and
the proper administration of any plan require
communication
and
collaboration
between
stakeholders. For the effective implementation of any
plan, two requirements have to be assured:
• Constant communication, for example, meetings
which occur on a regular basis.
• A common goal between all stakeholders.
Consequently, this leads to the development of a
GOT
Committee
.
Hence, the GOT Committee will become
the key driver for an effective implementation of GOT
Cycle within the Pilot Run. It should consist of appropriate
representatives from:
Step 1.
